Klosters and the Prättigau. A short alpine link often driven for lunch or a change of scenery. Village parking is limited in season, so a compact AWD SUV handles the narrow turns and roadside snowbanks better than a low-slung coupé.
St. Moritz and the Engadin via Flüela Pass. The classic route east, climbing through open switchbacks before dropping into the Engadin valley. Winter tyres and AWD are the practical choice here, since the pass can close temporarily in heavy snowfall.
Zurich transfer corridor. Most guests arrive via Zurich and continue through Chur into the mountains. An AWD estate or SUV with ski-equipment space makes this transfer straightforward, whether the car is collected at the airport or delivered directly to a Davos hotel.
Arosa and Lenzerheide loop. A quieter alternative through Graubünden's back roads, popular in summer with open-top or performance models once the passes are clear. Fuel stops are limited along the way, so a full tank at departure is worth planning for.
Dischma and Sertig valleys. Two narrow valleys running directly from Davos itself, better suited to a compact SUV than a wide-bodied supercar. Parking is informal and space is tight near the trailheads, so timing a visit outside peak hours helps.
